Back in May, a TSA employee uses the new Backscatter Scanning system to make fun of a TSA colleague about the size of his penis. Other instances have arisen where the maturity and professionalism of TSA security agents has to be questioned. This raises an issue for me because on the one hand, people say it’s good that Little Jimmy is able to get a job without a degree. But that’s just it: who qualifies to be a TSA agent? If airport security was as serious as the government says it is, and the threat for our safety was as genuine as they promise it to be, why aren’t their stricter qualifications for being eligible to be a TSA agent?
